Hi, I am Michaela.

I’m born in Cape Town, South Africa, and now living in Germany. My dad is German, so when I was 16, my family and I moved from South Africa to Germany. It was a big change, but Germany has been home ever since.

Photography has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. My dad was a photographer, so I grew up around cameras and photography and was always fascinated by the way a single image can capture a moment and bring you right back to it.

After finishing school, I studied Photography in Cologne and went on to spend eight years working as a fashion photographer at Esprit.

A big part of my work there was photographing children’s fashion. I loved working with children from the very beginning. I think my calm and easy-going personality helped me connect with them naturally, and over the years I also had the opportunity to work with Models, Hair & Makeup artists and Stylists from all over the world.

Working with so many different people taught me a lot. Everyone is different, and I love that. I’ve always enjoyed capturing people as they really are rather than trying to make them fit into a certain idea of what a photograph should look like.

In 2025 I became a mom and photography suddenly felt even more precious to me.

I started noticing how quickly she was changing: the little expressions, the tiny hands, the everyday moments that seemed so ordinary at the time but felt incredibly precious.

It made me realise just how quickly these moments pass, and how much we value having something tangible to look back on. And that’s what I want to do for other families.

Today, I photograph families, newborns and weddings, focusing on natural moments, genuine emotions and all those little details that make your story yours.

I want my photographs to feel beautiful, but I also want them to feel real, photographs that take you back to how that moment felt.
